As soon as they got outside, Viveka stopped, scanning the area. Frowning, she glanced up at her meister, wondering which way to go - wondering how they were supposed to find their way back to the Witch Lands without assistance. She realized that she shouldn't have worried when Erik started moving down the steps, his movements fluid and full of intent as a singular goal formed in his mind.

"Go faster!" Erik hissed as he heard the bell, and Viveka suppressed a snort as she upped her speed, not wanting to get caught by any of the other students or teachers as they fled the campus, their steps taking them quickly through Death City.

It wasn't really her nature to care; yet she found herself doing so anyway. Noting the familiar faces in her classroom, most of who hated her for reasons she probably deserved, she propped her feet up on the desk, put her arms behind her head, and spaced out.

"I never knew how far the Witch Lands were from the city!" Viveka complained once they were far enough to walk, their bodies sliding into the crowd and blending in with the other people who decided to roam the streets at this time. Granted, there really weren't that many, but those that were there didn't seem to see anything amiss. They certainly couldn't care more about the two people that had suddenly joined their ranks. Erik eyed her with disbelief, shaking his head. "Viv, we walked from the Witch Lands to Death City - how could you not know?" "Yes, well, maybe I wasn't paying attention! Where are we, anyway?" Erik sighed and turned his attention back to the path in front of them. "We'll be out of the city soon, Viv." "Then for the love of all things considered Holy or non-Holy, why the hell are we still walking?"

According to him, they were doing a dissection, which was out of place in Math, but Jackie enjoyed it nonetheless.

An hour later they arrived, Viveka panting and Erik trying to suppress the groan that he had felt building up as his head pounded. Everything in front of him was blurry, and he was unable to focus on any one object or person - even Viveka, with her unmistakable form. Sagging slightly, Erik felt his weapon's arm wrap around his waist to keep him up, her face etched into a frown. "C'mon, Eri - if we stand out here any longer, we're liable to lead others right to him." "We haven't been followed, Viveka." "Bite me. Let's go."

She loved dissection, though she'd never admit it. Just...there was something amusing about it to her. The unlucky person who was forced to partner with her was staring at the sharp tool in her hand in fear. Jackie didn't blame him; she wasn't exactly trustworthy with weapons...except her own living dagger.

When they entered, the first thing they could smell was the sweet and sour scent of herbs mixed with the pungent odour of some other ingredient that witches tended to use on a regular basis. To some people, the whole situation would be undesirable. But they were used to it. So when a well-dressed witch with sharp silver eyes and blacker-than-black rounded the corner, the collar of his dressy white shirt undone as he slowly shoved a stopper onto the vial in his hand, all the duo did was smile. "Hello, Robert."

She'd finished cutting up the rat and gotten a few laughs out of scaring her partner, so now she was bored.

" - idiots," Viveka snapped, lounging in one of the soft kitchen chairs and admiring her guardian's flair for what she had heard called "the fabulous". Granted, the witch who had said that had been subject to a rather vehement retaliation, but the statement still stood true, at least in her mind. Robert glanced over at her, a faint smirk forming on his face, but he merely handed a small case of something to Erik with firm instructions on when and how to take them. "And Viveka," the witch told her as they stood outside the front door, ready to leave. "I do not fancy being called into Death City for any reason. So stay out of trouble, yes?" Viveka would have laughed if it weren't for the dark expression on his face and the sharpening of his eyes as he held her gaze, leaving her feeling cold and almost frightened. She turned away, nodding. "She won't," Erik assured. "Mm. One of your classmates knowing about me is bad enough," Robert responded, making both weapon and meister freeze. "Oh, really, you did not think I would not know? I am a very powerful witch."

As far as she was concerned, Stein could keep prattling on...even if he called her name, which he did now. Jackie grinned and said, "Sorry, what? I can't hear you," even though she knew that he knew she could the entire time.

"All this time and school's still not over?" Viveka groused, her tone conveying the annoyance she felt on a regular basis towards everything that didn't go her immediate way. "What the hell is this!" "Shush, Viv - we're almost at the classroom," Erik said just before Viveka slammed into the door, forcing it open as she tumbled forward.
