Sometimes she found herself worrying about him. Oh, it wasn't because he couldn't take care of himself - even without her at his side, she was confident he could hold off whatever adversary long enough for her to return to him (like she'd ever leave in the first place) - but rather because, well... well... because he was so damn pale today! It was ridiculously unnerving, walking beside him through the hallways of Death Weapon Meister Academy and seeing the discomfort in his eyes, something he usually tried extremely hard to hide or conceal (especially from her, the bastard). "Hey. Hey, Eri," she tried, her eyes narrowed on his prone form as he glanced over at her with surprise, startled out of whatever reverie he had immersed himself in. "You all right? You look a little... off today. Like, pale. Seriously, you great prideful idiot, if something's wrong you have to let me know!" "I 'have' to let you know?" And goddamn if Viveka's heart didn't stutter in her chest at the almost sultry look he gave her, eyes peering from beneath long honey-coloured lashes with that smile on his stupid Erik face. Coughing to hide the sudden change in her body heart, Viveka turned to scowl at him, her hands planted firmly on her hips. "Yes, you have to tell me!" she told him fiercely, wishing she could transform and attempt temporary decapitation. "I am your partner! I'd think that meant something!" "Mm. It does, you know that, and I'm f - Viveka, stop flailing your arms like that. You're starting to resemble a bat." "A bat? Not even a beautiful bird?" Viveka whined, sitting back down on the hard wooden chair that she had dragged over to the table. "No, a bat," Erik replied with a bit of a hum, his eyes sparkling as they fell into their usual routine of bantering. "A very... cross bat." At that moment, however, he coughed, and Viveka was back to hovering behind him, her eyes shining with worry. "Erik..." "I'm fine, Viv," Erik murmured, lowering his voice to calm her, like he knew it never failed to do. "Please, do not worried about me." But I do, Viveka thought to herself as she watched him return to his book, lines of pain creasing his otherwise smooth face. So why won't you listen to me?
ooc;; I apologize for any and all typos.

She was rather irritated today, and she was searching for either her Demon Weapon to relieve the boredom, and as an extra pair of eyes to keep watch while she scrawled graffiti, or a wimp like Crona to beat up. She noticed two unfamiliar figures talking. One, the guy, was an imposing figure who dressed rather elegantly, which distressed Jackie. He had creamy colored blonde hair, and witty eyes, one of which, Jackie noticed with a start, was half brown, half blue. The girl had a generous amount of black (or was it silver? Jackie couldn't tell)hair swept back, and a fancy top and a plaid skirt that reminded Jackie of her nemesis, Maka's, except less drafty. Jackie knew she hadn't run into them before; she'd remember them, definitely. "Hey," she said, sauntering over, "Are you new here?"

It was certainly beneath her, squealing like some half-mad girl ogling her crush on the cover of a less-than-reputable magazine (gross), but she had been understandably surprised, and couldn't help the small noise of distress that came from the back of her throat as her hand automatically went to curl around her meister's wrist. When she saw it was just a girl, however, she felt indignation rush through her system, causing her eyes to narrow in response and her more hostile side to take over. She was a weapon, after all. "Who the hell are you?" was, naturally, the first thing she demanded, refusing to move from her spot as Erik glanced up, his eyes registering his surprise at the appearance of the other girl. "And we're not... well, we're new here, but we're not... we're capable!" Viveka continued, her voice snappy and still very hostile. "Viv, calm down," Erik said, though he sounded removed from the situation, almost like he was miles away. Almost immediately, Viveka noticed his hand fly up to his chest, where she knew the Teutonic Cross he wore lay beneath.

It wasn't like her to be intimidated by a schoolgirl, even though this was a strange school, where students killed as a class. Well, it was OK if they didn't want to be allies anyway. She had Sabrina...but she would have liked other allies too. "Jeez. Just trying to talk, don't jump down my throat," the gangster-girl spat, green eyes narrowed.

"You just startled her," Erik cut in, a small grimace on his face as he tried to ward off the inevitable. "And Viv is volatile at the best of times; don't take it to heart." The last part was said in such a low voice that Viveka wondered whether he had meant for it to be heard or not. Really, it was a bit of a conundrum. "I am not," the weapon replied sulkily, tossing a glare in the direction of the girl with distaste written cleanly across her face. "You are, Viv. Play nice, please? For me?" Viveka snarled, but she caught the pained expression on his face and reluctantly lowered her metaphorical hackles. "I'm Viveka," she said at last. "Erik's my meister."

"Jaquelin Sutton, at your service," she joked, straightening back up. So Viveka's a bit fiery-tempered, she thought, hm...I'd be lying if I didn't say the same about myself. "My weapon's Sabrina. Be careful, though...there are a few students here you need to watch out for. Anyone in Soul's gang is bad news."

Vibeka hissed, refusing to lower her generally defensive stance towards the other girl. This wasn't an unnatural thing, at least not from her - she tended to get ansty around people she didn't know, or deemed a possible threat. "And they're bad news 'cause you don't like 'em, am I right?" she challenged, sniffing delicately. "Pheh, they probably have the same faulty reasoning." Erika didn't say anything, but he clicked his tongue in agreement, glancing at his weapon before turning his head to the clock on the wall, lips pursed. "You could say something, Eri," Viveka muttered lowly, evidently displeased with how he was reacting to the situation.
ooc;; Terribe iPad post is terrible.

Jackie put her hand on her hip. "They're bad news because they're freaks." She glanced down the crowded hallways, looking for her weapon. Leave it to Jackie to get into this situation without a weapon partner. Her nemeses (is that the plural?)in Soul's gang always called her 'hot-headed' and 'volatile', and were sure to attempt to guard their weakest member against her and Sabrina. Well...okay, that much they'd been right about. But still. "There have been a lot of new students here recently," she stated, more to herself then Erik and Viveka.

ooc;; Nemesis is singular; I don't believe there is a correct plural form. Nemesis generally refers to one person.
Oh, and being sick with a broken laptop is the sulkiest thing on earth.
bic;; Erik looked over at that, his eyes sparking with interest. "Really?" he asked, a pensive frown overtaking his face as he turned to his weapon, who made a face at him before sniffing and returning to her nail-staring. "Why would there - " he broke off when a huge shudder overtook his body and a sharp stab of pain lanced through his head, making him hiss and clutch at his temples out of pure reflex.

She obviously didn't know Erik that well, and, as a result, showed little compassion, but she knew if a student suddenly collapsed while she was around, she'd be the prime suspect. She debated whether to call for help, then denied it. A closer help was right at hand. "Viveka," Jackie said, "Does that happen often to him?"

ooc;; ^^ Heading to New York tomorrow, so I won't be on until Thursday or Friday :/
bic;; Viveka pursed her lips and glanced around, sighing in half-relief when she saw no-one else around. "Yes," she said at last, "though the headaches aren't as regular. We usually have to get help from... oh, well, we usually get... a tonic or something. We know someone who... who makes them specially for Erik. He's known him for awhile..."

Apparently, Viveka and Erik were a lot more then they seemed. She was okay with that; almost everyone in DWMA had an interesting back-story; she was no exception. Jackie glanced upward as the bell chimed out, "Ding dong, DEAD dong!" Returning her gaze to Viveka, she stated, "It's time to get to class. See you around." and sauntered off.

Erik glanced up, his eyes narrowing as he heard the bell as well. "C'mon," Viveka huffed, glaring at her meister with enough ire to properly fry a dragon (or some other mythical or non-mythical creature; she wasn't too picky as long as something ended up disintegrating). "You are going to slug through your classes, and then we are going to get some of that shit you like drinking, all right?" "I don't drink it because I like it!" Erik protested. Viveka merely snorted. 'Of course not, Eri; not you. You just like the attention he gives you when you get there." Erik flushed lightly, but said nothing after that, and Viveka walked away triumphant.

Unsurprisingly, she noticed one of the members of Soul's Gang missing, although his weapon was sitting next to his empty seat, studying. Black*Star usually skipped class. Bored, Jackie doodled in her binder, waiting for the torture to begin.
